  • What a gorgeous summer, finally, so let me be really quick. If I missed you at The Big Float today, send me a pix @clevelandhighschool.  I said hi to everyone I recognized.

Remember to watch and see changes on your favorite web sites by using Google Reader or Diphur depending on your need.  I use both.  An example is this site, I read the articles with Google Reader, although I use Diphur to flag me when the page changes so I can keep up with the Tweets and Diigo Blogroll changes. I don’t have time to waste checking back on pages, not even yours, so use a service!

  • How come someone didn’t let me in on the fact that a few Feature Length movies like Men in Black are available to watch for free.  Sure, I have seen it, but it lets me watch a movie using the new service from Google and see if I like the speed, delivery and if I have the right extensions for Chrome to make the movie display well.

  • I am playing with Google Swiffy converting class Flash SWF files to HTML 5 so that I can display them on iDontsupportflash devices and use them with web pages.   So far, shape tweens aren’t supported and the other details below will set up the standard for file formats I will be using in class.  But the first few animations I put through work are working great.

    From the tool:
Swiffy converts Flash SWF files to HTML5, allowing you to reuse Flash content on devices without a Flash player (such as iPhones and iPads).
Swiffy currently supports a subset of SWF 8 and ActionScript 2.0, and the output works in all Webkit browsers such as Chrome and Mobile Safari. If possible, exporting your Flash animation as a SWF 5 file might give better results.
