  • From Make: and its article on the Cardboard Tube Fighting League check out the San Francisco branch of the Cardboard Tube Fighting League (CTFL)
    http://www.tubeduel.com/sf.

Further information, or not, is attached from the website.

The CTFL was created out of a desperate need to better train and arm citizens with cardboard tubes. While many speculate that our fore fathers, when drafting the constitution, originally intended the second amendment to refer to fire arms, there is now a small group of non-academics who believe that they were more likely referring to elite militias of card board tube wielding ninjas. While this training often takes place during childhood, it is discarded by adults who remain uneducated about the importance of such practices. The goal of the CTFL is to provide organized cardboard tube based events that help spread cardboard awareness. Among these pages you will find information, history, and event listings for duels in the San Francisco area.

  • I just added the WordPress Mobile Edition as a result of my recent road trip across the country.  Think of this as a must have for your platform in today’s world.  Visit http://mobile.nytimes.com using your phone.  Incredibly useful and lightning fast, even when compared to the NYTimes iPhone Application which pales by comparison.

  • SteadiShots.org is a site where the skills of the men and women responsible for some of the most memorable shots in television and cinema history are put on display. It is a site where professionals and admirers of the industry can come and learn about the organization required to create something that, when viewed on screen, seems so effortless.

Behind the camera of the shots on this site is an entire team of people all operating in harmony to make the perfect product. On the front lines of this team is one solitary craftsman — the Steadicam Operator. It is a person whose profession takes a lifetime to master.

Usually found about halfway down the list of credits, the Steadicam Operator is one of the most skilled and hardest working people in show business. This site is dedicated to them.
